June 17-22, 2025 I am honoured to have been chosen as one of thirty artist to compete in this International festival in Nova Scota this June! I will post on my Facebook and Instagram throughout and hope anyone in the area can come by and enjoy the festival.

I am busy at work preparing some functional art for the Art Studio Tour. I had some of my paintings printed on fabric and I am making bags, coin pouches and sunglasses cases. I will also have cards and notebooks. My artwork and I will be at studio 24 with the Stave Falls Artist Group at the Albion Community Centre on Mothers Day weekend May 10&11 2025. It’s good to step out of your comfort zone, once in a while, right? Right? Lol

I am one of 30 painters chosen to compete in this 6 day event in Nova Scotia!!!! I am nervous, but also sooooo excited to do this.

It will be fun to go somewhere that I have never been and really take it in!!

A big part of my artistic journey is to be brave and try new things. Experimenting and learning from others, including master painters, sometimes means being uncomfortable and unsuccessful in my attempts to learn. By persevering I hope to discover something special that I can use going forward.
This past weekend I participated in a workshop with master painter David Langevin. I admit it was probably the most difficult workshop I have ever done, because the techniques were opposite to what I am used to. I struggled!
Determined to get something out of it, after a failed attempt, I tried 2 more at home and then moved on to my own version. It might not be exactly what was shared, but I at least picked up some things to use.
There are many ways to paint and always something to learn!

I did my daily painting at the B.C. Wide Landscape Event held by the @langleyartscouncil . I was not in the main competition this year, but painted in the People’s Choice portion of the event.
